Casting News! Doctor Strange! Suicide Squad! Deadpool!

‘Suicide Squad’ Cast Announced

Many of the actors have been rumoured for weeks though we didn’t know for sure which characters they were playing in David Ayer’s film. Now we know the complete Suicide Squad will be formed by Will Smith as Deadshot, Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as the Joker, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.

Variety reported that Warner Bros. is still looking for Amanda Waller and they might be considering Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Oprah Winfrey for the role. There were also rumours that Jesse Eisenberg could be coming back to reprise his role of Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Benedict Cumberbatch is officially Doctor Strange

This role has been a real rollercoaster but Marvel has finally confirmed this week that their choice to play the Sorcerer Supreme is the long-time rumoured Benedict Cumberbatch.

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity… In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character,” Kevin Feige said in the Marvel statement.

“Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.”

‘Bond 24’ Title, Synopsis and Cast

At a live-stream press conference this week, Sam Mendes revealed a lot of information about the next Bond film, which will be titled Spectre. The name stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion.

The synopsis for the film is the following:

“A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”

The new cast members were also introduced. Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser, Andrew Scott as Denbigh, David Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra and Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann. Some of this actors had already been speculated to be involved in the film. They will join Daniel Craig, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Rory Kinneear and Ben Whishaw.

It was also revealed the new Aston Martin DB10.

Ryan Reynolds Confirmed to return as Deadpool

It seems Ryan Reynolds has a second chance at portraying the superhero Deadpool after the awful X-Men Origins: Wolverine. His involvement in the film had already been speculated for a while after some animated footage of the movie leaked where the actor was voicing Deadpool. The movie will be directed by Tim Miller with a script that have been long in the making.

‘Fantastic Four’ Official Synopsis

THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

Interstellar Posters

This week has been released not one but two official posters for the upcoming Christopher Nolan film, Interstellar.

I personally like much better the first one which was released earlier this week and shows Matthew McConaughey on a frozen world. The second one just doesn’t have the same impact and generates too many questions. Is this a whole different planet full of water or are they back on Earth in the future and the planet is flooded? Also, we’ve already had three posters for this movie, is it starting to be too much as they don’t give any information away?

Interstellar hits theaters on November 7th.

Tom Hiddleston cast in King Kong prequel

Legendary Pictures have announced that Tom Hiddleston has land the lead role in Skull Island. The film will explore the home of King Kong and his origins with Jordan Vogt-Roberts as the director.

I’m so excited about this news. Tom Hiddleston is a great actor and has shown it in various supporting roles but has yet to be the lead in a big film, so this is an amazing opportunity for him.

Skull Island will be released in theaters November 4, 2016

New Poster for Into the Woods

The first movie poster for Disney’s Into the Woods is finally here and features three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep as the terrifying Witch.

Directed by Rob Marshall, Into the Woods hits theaters this year on Christmas day.

Jack Huston and Toby Kebbell cast in Ben Hur remake

There was some speculation at the beginning of the month that Tom Hiddleston was in negotiations to play the role of Ben Hur in the remake of the movie but this week has been confirmed that the role has in the end gone to Jack Huston.

Later this week has also been announced that Toby Kebbell will play Messala. With Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the upcoming Fantastic Four it seems he has taken a fancy for villainous roles.

This two actors will join Morgan Freeman who was already cast as Ildarin. The remake is set to be release on February 26, 2016

Deadpool movie announced with Kevin Feige producing

After the hype that the Deadpool “leaked” footage provoked amongst the fans of the superhero genre, Fox has finally confirmed the movie, which will come out on February 12, 2016. It’s yet to be announced if Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which wasn’t a big success.

The movie will be directed by Tim Miller but the most curious thing about this news is that Kevin Feige from Marvel will be producing it. As you might know, Fox has the rights to the character of Deadpool and not Marvel/Disney so, why is Kevin Feige the producer? With the Marvel Cinematic Universe already consolidated maybe Kevin Feige wants to make sure that other superhero films are also a success so audiences will keep interest in the genre, which would also affect his property.
